CANADIAN OLYMPIC ATHLETE

Born and raised in Stellarton, Nova Scotia, Blayre Turnbull took a unique path to playing in the 2018 Olympic Winter Games. After being released from the Hockey Canada program at the Under-18 level in 2010, she continued to push herself to perform her best at Shattuck St Mary’s Prep School as well as the University of Wisconsin where she had a stellar 4 year career. After graduation, Blayre moved to Calgary to play for the Calgary Inferno of the CWHL and eventually earned her spot on the National Women’s Team. She first competed for Team Canada at the 2014 Four Nations Cup and has since been a member of 3 Four Nations Cup teams, 2 silver medal winning World Championship teams, as well as the silver medal winning 2018 Olympic Team.

Testimonials

"

Blayre Turnbull earns her opportunities in life which makes her success all the sweeter. She’s a charismatic gal and naturally engages with any group she encounters. The reason for her success is not tough to label, her family might call it stubbornness, but in the sporting world, we call it determination. Blayre did not experience the most direct path to becoming an Olympian and ultimately used every “setback” as an opportunity to grow. When others blamed, she worked. If you have seen her play it is not hard to wonder why she is now an Olympic Silver Medalist. Blayre plays every shift with grit and determination, the same way she approaches life. As a former National Team Member, I am proud to watch Blayre play the Canadian Way.

People have been complimenting my bathroom nonstop since Peter remodeled it three years ago. Everything’s still got that new sheen and the tilework is just awesome.
